JV Baseball Weekly Recap

Panther JV Baseball Game Summaries 4/5/2011 vs. Groveport The JV North baseball team opened up with a win vs. Groveport. Their victory was led by the strong pitching of Andrew Hesch. Hesch pitched a complete, 7 inning game. Justin Childers, Jordan Grubb, and Connor Jeffries led the Panther offense with base hits and aggressive base running. 4/6/2011 vs. Groveport The North Panthers battled Groveport, and came up with the win. They were led by the pitching of freshman Jake Edwards and Junior Connor Jeffries. The defense truly stepped up for the Panthers committing no errors and hanging on to a five run lead for the whole game. The defensive excellence was led by Childers, Huth, Stoddard, Olszweski, Murray, and Grubb. 4/8/2011 vs. Pickerington Central The JV North Panthers played a GREAT game Friday vs. their rivals Pickerington Central. Kyle Montell led the Panthers pitching a complete game, and the Panther offense displayed great hitting and base running to tally 13 runs. The Panthers defeated the Tigers 13-5 and look forward to playing them again on Monday (4/11). 4/9/2011 vs. Upper Arlington The Panthers first of two games was against Upper Arlington. Jordan Grubb led the Panthers in pitching, but with a few timely errors the Panthers fell short against Upper Arlington 7-5. 4/9/2011 vs. St. Xavier North came into the second game determined to get a win after falling short in game 1 to Upper Arlington. North was led by pitching from Hesch and Childers. This game was a battle throughout every inning, and the Panthers came out with the win in the bottom of the 9th inning. Going into the bottom of the 9th the Panthers were down 3 runs, but the bats came alive, and with two outs, Jordan Grubb hit a 3-run, walk off, triple to win the game. This was a great TEAM effort where every player was used in some role. A win like this gives the team a lot of confidence for the following weeks.
