Anyone interested in playing high school boy's volleyball this spring, attend the interest meeting on Tuesday, February 7th at 1:45pm. If you cannot attend, stop by Room 138 to get tryout and preseason information.
Drug Testing Wednesday, February 15th @ 1:45pm in the athletic entrance hallway in commons.
Athlete/Parent Meeting, Monday, March 5th @ 7pm in the gym.
All Boy's wanting to play volleyball this spring for the high school, must have a current physical, complete a pre-season drug test and attend a pre-season athlete meeting. Any boys that have participated in another school sport this school calendar year, have already met these requirements and just need to show up on Monday, March 5th for the first official day of tryouts. So, please make sure that your son has a physical...he has to have one each year as they are only good for one calendar year. If your son's will need to be renewed during the season, please get it taken care of it before the season starts. It will be less of a hassle and less stress for all parties! The OHSAA physical form must be completed and has 2 pages front and back. Copies of this are in the athletic office or online at www.pickeringtonpanthers.org. Preseason drug test will be on Wednesday, February 15th at 1:45pm. They will need a $20check[made out to: PLSD] or cash for the drug test.
Preseason mandatory athlete/parent meeting [one parent must be in attendance] will take place Monday, March 5th at 7pm in the gym. All athlete's and one parent that have not participated in a sport this school year must attend.
OHSAA - 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th graders must have passed five credits towards graduation during the current nine weeks to be eligible.
GPA - All student athletes will need to earn a 1.75 GPA per nine weeks to remain eligible to participate in athletics the following nine weeks.
INTERIMS - Grades will be checked at interims and all student-athletes must be passing 5 credits toward graduation to remain eligible to participate in athletics.
