Pickerington 1 Groveport 0
After a heart-breaking one-run loss to Grove City on Monday, the Panthers bounced back tonight defeating Groveport 1-0 in 8 innings. Molly Doyle went the entire distance on the mound and had possibly her best outing of the season. She scattered 3 hits, issued no walks, and struck out 10 Groveport hitters to record the shut out. The team played excellent defense behind her, and the Panthers finally broke through in the top of the 8th inning as Rachel Hack drew a one-out walk, advanced to third base on a single by Linda Laeufer, and scored on a wild pitch. Megan Seeds led the offense with two hits. Four other players - Rachel Hack, Linda Laeufer, Taylor Knore, and Ali Murphy each contributed a hit. The team will host Pickerington Central on Thursday. It will be senior night. The recognition ceremony will take place at approximately 5:00 p.m.

The Varsity Softball team had a very good weekend
PICKERINGTON NORTH 2 NEWARK 1
On Friday, the team traveled to Newark for an OCC game, which we won 2-1. This raised our OCC record to 3-3. Molly Doyle pitched a complete game allowing only 3 hits and one walk while striking out 6. Linda Laeufer and Allyson Baldwin led the offense; each girl had two hits. Megan Seeds, Erika Bruestle, Kelsey Swain, Ali Murphy, and Taylor Goddard also had hits.
PICKERINGTON NORTH 9 OREGON CLAY 4
On Saturday, the team played in an All-Ohio tournament at Gahanna. In the first game, the Panthers faced Oregon Clay, the team that was ranked #1 in the state in the coaches poll last week. The Panthers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning and went on to win 9-4. Linda Laeufer went 3 for 5 and led the team with 3 RBI's including a solo home run in the 3rd inning. Ali Murphy hit a solo home run in the 7th inning. Overall, in addition to Laeufer and Murphy, Megan Seeds, Taylor Knore, and Taylor Goddard each had two hits while Kelsey Swain and Erika Bruestle each added a hit and combined for 3 additional RBI's. Rachel Corrigan pitched well and earned a complete-game win as the team played good defense behind her. While Clay had 12 hits, they managed to score only four runs.
LAKOTA WEST 3 PICKERINGTON NORTH 2
In the second game on Saturday, the team faced Lakota West, a team that was ranked #4 in the state. While the team lost 3-2, they played an excellent game. Molly Doyle pitched 7 and 1/3 innings giving up 7 hits and no walks. Rachel Corrigan came on in relief. The offense was led by Erika Bruestle, who had two hits. Other Panthers who contributed a hit were Allyson Baldwin, Taylor Knore, Rachel Hack, and Laura Kageorge. After starting the season 0-4, the team has raised its record to 6-6 after Saturday's games.

PICKERINGTON NORTH 5 LANCASTER 3
The varsity softball team defeated Lancaster 5-3. The Panthers scored 4 runs in the first inning and added a run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Offensively, Megan Seeds and Linda Laeufer both had 2 hits and 1 RBI. Taylor Knore hit a double that scored both Laeufer and Allyson Baldwin in the 4-run first inning. Erika Bruestle, Allyson Baldwin, Abi Jeffers, and Taylor Goddard all had hits as well. Defensively, the team played an excellent game committing only 1 error. Rachel Hack made 4 outstanding catches in right field. Abi Jeffers threw out the only Lancaster runner that attempted to steal a base. Rachel Corrigan earned a complete-game win. She scattered 11 hits and allowed only 2 earned runs. Rachel recorded 5 strikeouts while giving up 2 walks.

APRIL 12, 2010
GAHANNA 4 PICKERINGTON NORTH 1
The varsity softball team lost to Gahanna 4-1 on Monday, April 12. The score was tied 1-1 until the 5th inning. Gahanna broke through with 4 hits and scored 3 runs. Two costly errors by the Panthers also factored into the 3 run inning. The Panthers loaded the bases in the bottom of the 6th but were unable to score any additional runs. Molly Doyle took the loss. Offensively, Abi Jeffers led the team with 2 hits.

We won 10-0 in five innings. We had 9 hits and commited 1 error. Molly Doyle pitched the entire game. She gave up 4 hits, issued no walks, and struck out 5 hitters. Linda Laeufer led the team with 3 hits.
Sat., April 10 - home
First game.
We beat Fairborn 6-4. They came in with a 6-1 record. The team rallied from a 3-0 deficit, scoring 4 runs in the 5th and 2 in the 6th inning. Rachel Corrigan pitched an outstanding game. She scattered 11 hits, gave up to walks, and struck out 7. Taylor Knore had 3 hits to lead the team's offense.
Second game
We beat Utica 10-0 in six innings. The team broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the 5th inning, scoring 9 runs and then scored one run in the sixth to end the game. Molly Doyle pitched her second consecutive, complete-game shutout. She gave up six hits and issued no walks. She recorded 7 strikeouts. Taylor Knore again had 3 hits. Erika Bruestle and Linda Laeufer both contributed 2 hits.
